The viral news of a man named Ghozali who sold his selfies in the form of a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) shocked many crypto enthusiasts because Ghozali’s NFT selfie collection managed to sell for up to billions of rupiah.     When you look at The Merge, it can look like an unattractive work of art. However, this digital artwork was sold in pieces totaling 312,686 pieces and is referred to as a mass. Buyers could purchase any number of tokens starting with a unit price of US$575, which increased by US$25 every six hours. By the end, the tokens sold for a total of US$91.8 million (equivalent to 1.3 trillion rupiah). Until now, the real identity of the artist behind The Merge is still unknown. The artist is known by the pseudonym ‘Pak’.

    This NFT is the work of Mike Winkleman,  who is often known as Beeple. Mike Winkleman’s work, Everydays: The First 5000 Days is a digital art piece which is a collection of 5000 images created by Winkleman over 13 years. Through the accumulations of his hard work over the years, his work sold for 69 million dollars or equivalent to Rp. 992 billion.

    Another one of Beeple’s works that was sold was Human One, which is an image of a human in the first metaverse. Metaverse is a 3D digital world that can function as a social place. In this work, Beeple describes how the first humans would walk in the Metaverse. This NFT was successfully sold at US$29.9 million or equivalent to Rp.431.1 billion on December 9, 2021.

The NFT sold is an image of the 9 Alien Punks series that LarvaLabs has created. One of the most expensive NFT LarvaLabs ever sold was recorded at 11.75 million US dollars or Rp. 168.2 billion.

Other items include digital posters of the code written by Sir Timothy as well as other documents that record the early traces of the internet in the world. An artwork with strong sentimental value, This Changed Everything was sold for US$5.4 million (equivalent to Rp.77.6 billion).
